Brady ISD cancels classes on Thursday and Friday

January 12, 2022

Brady Supt. Dr. Hector Martinez made a late announcement Wednesday, saying the district will close on Thursday and Friday due to low staffing levels attributed to illness.

Shortly after this release was received, the official positive case number was released by the local hospital stating there are 201 active cases as of Wednesday afternoon.

The following statement was issued late Wednesday by Supt. Martinez:

In response to a rapid rise in Covid cases, quarantines and other communicable illnesses amongst staff and students, we will not have school the remainder of this week (January 13 and 14). Please also remember that Monday, January 17 is a school holiday, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

It is our hope that this break will allow for an optimal return of both staff members and students next week. All extracurricular activities will also be

suspended until our return on Tuesday, January 18th.

Any additional notifications will be sent via School Messenger and updated on our social media platforms. As always, it is Brady ISD's mission to keep the health and safety of our staff and students as our utmost priority.
