Ewell Teague, Jr., 80
Ewell Ray Teague, Jr., 80, passed away on Wednesday, June 2, 2021, in Brady. He was born in Brady to Ewell Ray and Amanda (Watkins) Teague, Sr., on Feb. 19, 1941. He married Olee Young on Sept. 16, 1982, in Brady. He lived in McCulloch County all of his life. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Camp Air and former Army and National Guard (Vietnam). He loved Hillbilly Hits music, cornerstone of the museum. He was a race car enthusiast and driver and enjoyed dancing, fishing, relaxing with family and friends and having fun. He helped others anyway he could, was a straight shooter, truck driver, and enjoyed barbecue and being around family. Ewell is preceded in death by his parents; sons, Tommy B. Teague and Charlie Wernecke; and a brother, Benny Foster Teague. Ewell is survived by his wife, Olee Teague; three sons, Clayton Wernecke and wife, Linda, Lawrence Wernecke and Freddie Wernecke and wife, Rachel; a daughter, Amanda Faye Veitch and husband, John; a sister, Melba Mae Jones; nine grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Visitation was held from 6-8 p.m., Friday, June 4, at Heritage Funeral Home of Brady. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 5, at Heritage Funeral Home of Brady with Tracy Pitcox officiating. Burial was at Camp San Saba Cemetery in McCulloch County. Pallbearers were Lonnie Ray McMullin, Scooter McMullin, Evan McMullin, Jake Wernecke, TJ Blair and Kevin Dotson. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Heritage Funeral Home of Brady.
