Cricket Wireless, Snap Fitness and Mandi's Hair Store, held a canned food and essentials
drive for the McCulloch County Hunger Coalition. Organized by Cricket Wireless store manager, Glenda
Ortegon, patrons and employees came together to collect four large boxes of donations to help fill Brady’s Blessing
Boxes and serve those in the community who may be struggling with food insecurity. Blessing Boxes are small,
free food pantries filled by neighbors and groups in the community who donate non-perishable items to be taken
discreetly by anyone who may need them. The pantries often contain items such as soup, snacks, water and also
hygiene products like wet wipes and toothbrushes. There are five Blessing Boxes located throughout the City of
Brady: in front of Sara’s Shared Dream, 1404 S. Bridge St.; First United Methodist Church; Vision Heights Church;
the corner of W. White St. and N. Walnut; and ARC Youth - Brady, 700 S. China. Businesses or individuals who
would like to sponsor a food drive to help support the community effort to fill Brady’s Blessing Boxes this summer
can contact Sara’s Shared Dream at 325-456-2211.
