During Tuesday night's regular city council meeting, the final item on the agenda was to discuss and consider acting on possible lease agreement negotiations for the G. Rollie White Complex with local entrepreneur Heather Myles.
Initial talks involved a question from Mayor Tony Groves about whether the council should consider putting the matter out for another round of bids. The council ultimately decided that time had passed, and other interested parties had failed to submit proposals during the required timeframe.
During the discussion, Ms. Myles informed the council she had previously toured the facility and already started formulating rough plans to accomplish her vision for the forthcoming project. She laid out a three-year plan to open a multi-purpose horse training, rodeo and fairground facility that will also include facilities for 4-H and livestock shows.
After a lengthy discussion, the council voted 4-0 to enter into negotiations with Heather Myles to work toward a mutually beneficial contract agreement.
The full council report will be in the June 11 edition of the Brady Standard-Herald.
